FORMER JOINERY PROJECTS
We have chosen a couple of former projects to show how we approach them.

We strive to provide our customers with a first-class service and product from initial enquiry to installation of the joinery.

Because everything is hand made, the detail is in the planning phase, and having a true understanding of the end result for the customer.
Under Staircase Fitment
Under Staircase Fitment
In 2006, we were involved in the creation of this beautiful oak-framed building, manufacturing and installing the staircase, windows, and both external and internal doors. Recently, in 2024, we revisited the project to craft bespoke doors for the space under the stairs, inspired by the original front door design and the gothic arches of the oak-framed structure. Using prime-grade European oak and traditional craftsmanship, the fitments were custom-made to complement the home’s timeless aesthetic.

INTERNAL BI-FOLD DOORS
The photos below feature a set of four American Oak folding doors. Equipped with smooth-running gear, the doors can be effortlessly partially or fully opened, providing additional space as needed. When fully opened, the bi-fold design ensures the doors do not occupy valuable room space.

CURVED STAIRCASE
The images below showcase a staircase we crafted for a customer to seamlessly follow the curve of her wall.
To ensure a perfect fit, we recreated the wall in our workshop, allowing us to shape the pine strings precisely to its contours. This project required meticulous planning from the start. As with all our staircases, the components were fully assembled in our workshop before installation. The final images highlight how beautifully the staircase aligns with the curved wall.

PERIOD WINDOW
The images above are for Hever Castle, a number of years ago we were asked to replace two windows and a wall.
Both windows formed a section of the wall in the courtyard and all the sections were load bearing.

All the lead lights were refurbished and the Oak was colour matched to the existing windows.

GRAND DESIGNS
We were asked to manufacture windows and doors by Hemsted Limited, a building firm we have worked with on a number of occasions. This was for a house being constructed in Rye to be shown on Grand Designs.
The architect had specified Accoya to be used in the construction of the joinery due to the house being situated in a marine environment. We were asked to apply a spray finish to a specific RAL colour and we also colour matched the trickle vents on the windows.

All Stainless steel ironmongery was required to make sure that the life expectancy of the timber was not compromised.

PERIOD DOOR
This series of photographs shows a pair of the main gates to Penshurst Place being restored a number of years ago.
Where possible the original sections were re-used and all damaged sections were replaced.
Traditional jointing methods were used and all existing parts numbered and re-fitted in their original place.
The final picture is an external view of the doors following completion of the work with the wicket gate fully operational.
